Since April, 2014, the volunteers at the Rescue Faerie have provided rescue and adoption services for shelter dogs (and sometimes cats), mainly from Los Cabos, Mexico, the region found at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula.

The Rescue Faerie got its start when Suzanne Hein Fountain mentioned to her friend (and now Rescue Faerie volunteer), Rebecca that she was going to Los Cabos on vacation. Rebecca's mom volunteers at the Los Cabos Humane Society and Rebecca suggested she stop by for a tour.

During the tour, Suzanne told the President of LCHS, Aida Trujillo, that maybe someday she could bring a few dogs up from Mexico to Portland.

Aida asked, "Do you want to take a few now?" 

Meil, Cabo Carmelo and Cielo went to Portland with Suzanne and were quickly adopted.  

Since then, The Rescue Faerie has found homes for over 500 dogs.

The Rescue Faerie is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Portland, Oregon. The proceeds of our adoptions and donations are 100% used for our programs.
